Region 4 Week 8 GOTW

Post by Comanchealumni06 »

D1: #8 Mason @ Harper - Mason is 5-1 heading to Harper who is undefeated at 6-0! I wonder when the last time Mason faced an undefeated district opponent? This one brings some interest!

D2: Snook @ Somerville - I’ve brought it up before, but the Yeguas have made very few playoff appearances over their 100 plus year history. And they may have a chance to make a little bit of noise this season. So this becomes a game to watch.

Other notable games:
Rocksprings @ #8 ElDorado
#7 Falls City @ Louise
#2 Shiner @ Flatonia
Schulenburg @ Weimar

Punchers (5-1) are at undefeated Harper this week, then host one loss Johnson City next week. District 14 will go a long ways toward sorting out the top contenders these next two weeks.

I didn’t even realize that Harper was undefeated! Like what? lol! Somehow I still don’t see it being a close game with Mason.

I’m doing a terrible job at this, twice now I’ve felt the need to change the top game! I need to step up my game!

Harper hasn’t played a tough schedule. So I think Mason wins this one.

I probably would have chosen the same matchup.

Don't let the final score deter you. Heck last night's NFL game was 28-22, but the 2nd half was Tommy's Bucs on boring cruise control. It was not a great game, IMHO; even though it was close.

I like separation games, where teams either duke it out to their pre-game billing, or one is exposed as an imposter. That doesn't make it a bad matchup if that happens.

Totally off topic here, but in regards to NFL games do you think they are somewhat rigged to keep people watching? Heard on a radio show this morning that the number of one scores games this season is ridiculous in the NFL. Kind of goes back to my thinking the Patriots 25 point comeback in the Super Bowl was fixed, Had the scored been reversed people would have turned the game off and gone about the day, but people want to see the Patriots lose so they stayed watching and lo and behold they made their comeback. Maybe I'm just too big into conspiracy theories!!!

I believe ‘fix’ is too strong of a word. Do I think they massage outcomes? Yeah, but watch any NBA game and see the officials do the same thing. Umpires calls on any given pitch can and do change at-bats and games.

If I remember correctly, the average actual outcome on an NFL game is 4.5pts spread, and that’s part of yhe challenge of betting NFL games. I do believe refs affect the opportunities teams get at the pro level. In the end teams still have to execute.

For the record, I think high school officials are legit and straight up.
