Region 4 Games of the week!

Post by Comanchealumni06 »

I used to do this weekly. Kinda fell out of the habit. Weren’t many paying attention I felt. Figured I might try and spice it up again as the region 4 ambassador!

Week 7

2AD1 Region 4:

#4 Ganado @ #7 Kenedy - well this one is sure to grab some attention this week. AP Poll has these 2 ranked where they are. I’m with this forum though. I’m not very confident Kenedy will be ranked so high afterwards. They are 6-0 though. Guess we’ll find out soon enough!

Honorable mention: Refugio @ Taft - big D16 implications on the line here. And has Refugio improved since a big loss to Dilley?

2AD2 Region 4:

D’Hanis Cowboys @ Junction Eagles - Ehat a way to start of district. Not only this, the Cowboys are 6-0! I personally can’t think back to the last time I saw that. It’s been a little while. Junction will be the stiffest test they’ve faced so far though in my opinion. Will they stay undefeated and move a bit closer to winning this district? Or will Junction stay on top?

Honorable mention: Yorktown @ Falls City - The Yellowhackets start another year with a decent record. But will they jump over the hump and potentially beat the Beavers? The strength of those wins might leave a little to be desired once again.

Ganado by 28 over Kenedy, Refugio by7 over Taft, Junction by 14 over D Hanis, Falls City by over 21 Yorktown. That's the way i see this playing out.

There are a number of injuries for Ganado and Kenedy. There is nothing much a chance Kenedy wins based on what I understand the situation to be. Our coaching staff has had their hands full constantly shuffling lineups due to injury.
I have Ganado by 21 to 28 but possibly more.

I picked Refugio but I think DCTF has Taft by just a point or two. This one is a toss up but I have Refugio in a tight one.

Junction wins a close one.

I don't see Falls City or Yorktown going past 3 rounds but they are fielding good competitive teams. Falls City by 7-14. I miss the days of playing them, especially those 2008 and 2009 Ganado Falls City playoff games.

Russell out for the season for Kenedy is large for them. It makes them very pedestrian from a speed perspective. It would be similar to Ganado losing Logan Bures.

I don't see Kenedy beating Ganado or Shiner and possibly not Flatonia. If they played Weimar they wouldn't beat them now either. They'll beat Danbury. The playoff race was already interesting and now it really is.

I feel the same way. Flatonia might find themselves as high as 3rd in district. Never saw that coming.

I’m watching Shiner and Bloomington now. Geez… I’m not trying to put down kids. But Bloomington just isn’t good… they’re just plain bad… no effort either! Knowing that Kenedy had to come from behind in a high scoring game with them is just wild! And shows how much that 1 player meant to them!

Shiner 43 Bloomington 0 Half… I’m on here for chat lol. Gave up on DCTF App. The game chats literally wouldn’t load for me a bit ago. Lol

Shiner 43 Bloomington 3 final. Shiner went all backups. Some JV move ups. Bloomington ran starters the whole time. Ran some trick plays on that scoring drive too. All of a sudden. Their starters showed much more effort in the 2nd half! Funny how that suddenly happens when the starters leave the field lol.

Yea. That is interesting.

Ganado 63
Kenedy 20

They just aren't the same without top 100 player in nation. I completely understand and no team would be the same but they have got to find it.

Ganado is banged up and without multiple starters. Our coaches made some adjustments and the results speak for themselves.

Our game was 63-7 late 3rd quarter and backups came in for a final of 63-20. I think we could have scored close to 100 if we wanted to. Our backups gave up the final 2 tds late. More importantly our kids got reps 2nd string wise and we have looked better defensively the last 2 games, especially tonight.

Ganado-Shiner next week! Bring your popcorn! You going Comanche? Have any song requests?
