Quinlan Boles is the largest DII school. Waco Meyer is largest 2A school but I don’t think they play football. Canadian stays 3A

Didn’t realize Hamilton was on the cut-off line. They will be 3A next year. Stepp nailed the bottom number of 3A.

With Muenster and Chico moving up leaving a big gap out West I wonder if we won't go back East into region 3 with Era and Lindsay and maybe Celeste and Cumby?

This actually solves our non-district scheduling problem for next year. My guess is Burg will drop one opponent and add Weimar/Flat to their non-district. We still needed an opponent and were reaching out to Smithville and Gonzales, but Smith is undergoing a coaching change and Gonzales didn't want to play 2 classifications down.

I'd have liked to seen Weimar play Gonzales and Smithville.

We scrimmaged Smithville when I was in hs. Smithville is dropping to 3a d1.

Same for me. I think we have Luling scheduled. Nixon-Smiley dropped us. Rice dropped us. I poked around and asked our brass to see if we could get La Grange or Columbus on the schedule, but they are full. It will be interesting to see how our Freshmen perform right off the bat. Right now, I only expect to see three to four with significant playing time, and two starting.

We should know something about Smithville's coaching search this weekend, per my close source there. I know they were targeting two coaches in this region of our state.

Ganado will play Van Vleck, Boling, East Bernard, and Tidehaven. That stays the same.

We scrimmage Wallis Brazos and Industrial.

I would have liked to drop Boling and played Schulenburg.

Schulenburg could have played Ganado, Flatonia, Weimar, and Luling.

People around here have seen this song and dance before with Burg going up to 3A and the coastal plains schools all being slammed into one district.

The belief or sinking feeling here is Weimar will move north into the Brazos Valley/Centex district, similar to two years ago and a few times before that. UIL likes to use highway boundaries, and Weimar sits north of 10. The only one.

A few old timers think Ganado, Shiner, Flat, Bloom, Danbury and one of Kenedy/Refugio to be a part of that district. In weird realignment past years, Weimar has been shoved with a hodgepodge of Thorndale, Granger, Hearne, Rosebudd-Lott, etc.... throw in Marlin, and its a 50/50 coin toss to some on whether we go north or south.

I'm curious what happens with Weimar and even Flatonia.
