Bearcats are going quarterback by committee tonight, with both of our QBs hurt in the last scrimmage. QB1 is currently in a boot on the sideline, so it sure has been an interesting game so far in the back field. Good game by both teams so far, glad to be back under the lights again... Shiner 39 Hallettsville 7 - impressive showing from Shiners backup QB. The QB1 broke his wrist against Ganado last week. But shiner should be just fine. Definitely some things to work on offensively. But they were explosive at times. Defense started right back where they left off from last season. Looked solid.

Nobody including me thought with a bunch of freshmen and sophomores it would be this good this quick. 3 sophomores and 1 freshman on d line.

Pena had 205 yards receiving 4tds. Arriaga sophomore qb was 13-16 for 249 yards and 5 tds. Bures had 240 rushing yards.

Cooper may be underrated. Came up just short 42-41, against a top 20 3A-D2 Grand Saline team. Cooper was stopped on a 2 point try to try & take the lead 43-42, then got the ball back & scored what appeared to be the winning td with 20 seconds left, but had it called back for illegal formation.
