They have been here, I'm not sure how long. My son "DirtySims" would probably know more along those lines. They run track exclusively and did not want to risk injury as they have excelled in the area. And I cannot really talk to the why's and the how's as to them joining the team now, but since the track coach is also a football coach, and with our major injury to our other receiver, I would guess that they were asked to help out. And like I said before, when you have kids that are as fast as these two are, you take what you can get. These two kids were walking our halls, so nothing illegal has happened here.

This has happened before a few years ago as we had kids that were exclusive baseball players only and they did not want to risk injury playing a sport that they did not appreciate as much as baseball. Also, another case a number of years ago, we did not have a field goal kicker and there was this kid walking the halls that after the season started, said I can kick them, and he came out and darn if he couldn't. He was pretty good, and it helped us to not always go for two, which Coach Ables has done for most of his career here at Hawley and it has worked out really well for him...

Also, one more thing, these two kids train year-round and are in the best shape of their lives, so they have not just skip out on 2-adays or working out in general. They just finished up running cross country, so that is why imo they have come out now as we need help with the injury loss.

I gotcha, I’m not insinuating that they came from elsewhere. I just know how our coaches are. They look at it as not being fair to the other players that worked their butts off through 2 a days the whole season. Who ever has been there all season and put in the work is who gets to play next. So they just don’t let kids come in mid season. Never have and probably never will. And as far as being in shape, I’ll say this. There’s a really big difference between being in football shape and cross country shape. Something only 2 a days and season long conditioning can do.

But thats all up to yalls coach. It’s his ship. And his decision. I’m just pointing out why Shiner doesn’t allow it.
