Abilene TLC is a very young program, and this is their 3rd year in 11-Man football. The team that Hawley played Friday night, was mostly Freshman and Sophomores and they struggled against our defense, I am not sure they had five first downs, but they might have, I just know that it was not many. We also had a running clock from the 1st quarter and all of Hawley's starters made a curtain call to start the 3rd quarter but were pulled at that time. Our team was then fielded by what third string we have and since our JV did not have a game, our JV played from then on. They scored one additional time and added the two-point conversion. Abilene TLC does not have a JV team, so it was good to see that our JV kids got to play, and they played pretty well, so it was good to see that as well. We continued to have the running clock during the second half and this game went amazingly fast as it was over by 9. Abilene TLC did switch quarterbacks at the half, but the Hawley JV did a good job in containing him. This is such a young program, and I think they will be able to build something here, it just does not bode well to be in a district that is this tough as it has been the last few years. I do wish them the very best in the future. Also, I think most everyone knows this, but Hawley gave them access to our facilities last year on all of our away games, they played their home games on Hawley's field. This year they have moved to McMurry University's field as their home field. Go Bearcats...
