Playoff Predictions through Week 9 Games

I’ll take a Region 1 team in the state finals against a Region 4 team. In my top 8, I have 7 teams that are Region 1 or Region 4.

Region 1
District 1 and District 2, what a possible two great second-round matchups. My pick for district 4 winner is Stamford over Hawley. Round two, Panhandle vs. Stamford and Sunray vs. Hawley. The winner of both these games breeze through round 3 to meet up in the Region 1 Finals. I’ve got Stamford over Sunray in the finals.

Region 2
Region 2 is a total toss up. I could see De Leon, Wolfe City, or Axtell taking the top half of Region 2. I could see Itlay, Hamilton, or Tioga taking the bottom half. In the end, it doesn’t matter, Region 1 will take Region 2 in the state semi finals.

Region 3
I’ll take Honey Grove and Waskom in the top half of the bracket in round 3. In the bottom half, I have Centerville and Shelbyville in Round 3. I’ll take Honey Grove coming out of Region 3.

Region 4
Mason will be in the top half of the bracket and gets to the regional finals, defeating Weimar in round 2 and Marlin in round 3. Ganado and Refugio will meet in round 3. I’ve got Ganado over Mason in the finals.

Region 1 – Stamford over Sunray
Region 2 – Italy over Wolfe City
Region 3 – Honey Grove over Shelbyville
Region 4 – Ganado over Mason

Semi Finals – Stamford over Italy
Semi Finals – Ganado over Honey Grove

I would make a few changes to your top 10. And this is just my opinion based on the year so far, but I do like your semifinal projections.
1. Ganado
2. Stamford
3. Refugio
4. Sunray
5. Hawley
6. Honey Grove
7. Mason
8. Panhandle
9. Hamilton
10. Mildred

I think any of the top 5-6 teams can win state and I've been saying that all year. I wouldn't be surprised to see any of the ranked 1-5 teams win it all this year.
