Albany vs Hawley
This game last year I think was good for both teams. I'm hoping it will be just as beneficial this year. The circumstances around this game is a bit different than last year but it's still a rare thing for 2 defending state champs to be playing. That said I think both teams are different teams than the year before with slight different styles, strengths and weaknesses. I know it will be a good test for us since the Lubbock Trinity game to see where we stand. I'm super excited for this game

This game will be a good measuring stick for both teams.
Game of the week in 2A for sure.

Re: Albany vs Hawley
in my opinion a fully fit Albany would have beat Hawley last year,Albany this year has a very good defense the offense still needs some work

Re: Albany vs Hawley
Per the Abilene reporter news
And as of 6 p.m. Thursday, they were still looking for a place to play with Hardin-Simmons’ Shelton Stadium, Wylie’s Hugh Sandifer Stadium and Jim Ned’s stadium as possible locations for the game.
“I’m just waiting on someone to say, ‘Yeah, c’mon,” Hawley coach Mitch Ables said.

Re: Albany vs Hawley
I just want to compliment Hawley for a well played game tonight despite dealing with some adversity with a rained out field and personnel missed for a half. The way Hawley and Albany came together at the end is the height of sportsmanship and I wish Hawley well in their pursuit to defend their title. Hawley punched us in the mouth with that opening drive but I liked how we responded and played some football to get the game going afterwards. I feel both squads benefited alot from this matchup and now have a better grasp of what they can work on to improve. Good game
