I seen the highlights and I believe DeLeon will be the best team Goldthwaite will play this year.

My wife’s cousin has as a son on Crawford and they are looking good so far.

I remember 2 years ago talking to maybe their former head coach or an assistant who was on their staff for a long time at Crawford.

I’ve said for awhile I think Goldthwaite will be our toughest non district game.

I agree . Goldthwaite has a complete team this year great line and skill positions. Has a good chance to go to state. Most state publications don't have the Eagles in the top 10, but I rank them #4 coming in the preseason poll.

Was Refugio's non district schedule changed to be more manageable based upon what was coming up? I remember the days of playing Geronimo Navarro, Edna, East Bernard.
How good/deep Weimar will be will be contingent on health. They are really young. Mesa and Chmelik will be who people key on, but there’s some new names that will become known pretty quick. I foresee as many as 5 freshmen logging a lot of time once District starts. Three are seeing a lot of time right now. Two sophomores who were on JV last year but grew a lot will be a force.

If the line suffers injuries, Weimar is probably a solid 4th in district. I do think if they stay healthy on the line, Weimar could be a 3 round deep playoff team. They won’t lack speed.

IMO, Weimar is a year away from being really good. Knowing what I know about Joaquin, Weimar reminds me of them 3 years ago, when Bragg was a Freshman and Bass was a Senior.

We lose 6 seniors and gain 30 8th graders for next year. We'll be around 70 playing. It'll be the most since the 90s.

I think Ganado will be better next year. We'll have to replace Logan Smoke Bures. Just like replacing Pena this year will be tough. We have Beau Bures a cousin who is a freshman and starting both ways. Logan's brother started last year at DT, Cole Bures will be a sophomore.

I saw Beau getting a snowcone today. He looks like Goldberg. Dude is really hitting the weights. Great kid and super respectful.

I know Beau. Our oldest has played/competed against him in everything since we moved here.

A lot of change happens between 13-15 if the kid is dedicated to eating right and lifting. I don’t doubt he is taking cues from Logan. Beau isn’t as athletic as Logan, but he’s a gamer.

De Leon’s current junior class was 14-2 in 7th and 8th grade. The only 2 loses were to Goldthwaite. We’ve seen this coming.

Can’t wait to see Nados 8th grade vs Shiner 8th grade. Shiner 8th gonna be another special group with size and speed.
