Tonight's update:

Resting comfortable, has a virus (not Covid) Off food and liquids until next week. Kidneys are now doing good and heart rate coming down.

Good morning from Hudson Lane! Hudson had a pretty good night, no major upsets outside of taking all the stickers off of him and cleaning him and putting new ones in. He did really awesome with X-ray among others. I will update again after rounds later this morning.

This is going to be an up and down struggle but he is progressing and healing even if he takes a step back everyday as long as he takes 2 steps forward. Kinda like the old timey Texas 2 step.

Fast prayers please Hudson is having a very hard time… heart rate over 200 right now

Right now Hudson is stable, with a lot of morphine and other medicines, as well as the pace maker bringing him back down from that 200+ beat. It’s been quite hectic all morning since about 4, but the last few hours have sucked.
He is peaceful right now and they are changing his dressing.
1 step at a time baby boy, daddy ain’t leaving you, YOUR FIGHT IS MY FIGHT! I love you so much Hudson! Don’t you dare stop fighting! You have the entire world in your corner right now!

This is one tough kid!

Comments from his cardiologist

Good news, 99% sure his heart is good
Bad news, virus are bad, causing the lungs to have high pressure, virus will stick in his lungs about 6 weeks. It’ll slow the recovery down quite a bit. He could be out of ICU by Monday, and off to recovery, or if this virus acts up he could be in here till late next week or further. It all depends on Hudson and how he combats this.
This morning, his ventricle was beating too fast, stress from scans, and everything going on, his heart quickly raced to 200+ beats a minute and was treated with medicine, i can tell you, being here with him, this all started to kick off around 4 this morning and went full on about 6-630, and his stats were good around 10 for the first time all morning, i was 100% involved and hands on helping in any way i could while staying out of the way so the doctors and nurses could do what they needed to do, there was like 7 of them in here. It was the scariest morning of my life and i have never had that much trouble fighting back tears trying to be strong for my son, so that he wasn’t scared, so that he could somehow relax with his heart racing. Thinking about his surgery is one thing, but this right here, i never want to go through this again but you know damn well he won’t ever do it alone.
