Windthorst and Shiner would be about 30 years if not for 2009 and 1997.Windthorstfan wrote: ↑Thu Apr 22, 2021 3:48 pmThe year our streak was broken, 2009, we defeated Lindsay 20-3 in the second game of the season. They went 12-2 that year losing to Albany in the Region Finals. That was the last time Lindsay played us in the regular season. We were super young, lost to Petrolia 0-14. Had 3-4 trips inside the red zone where we didn't score. One of those was a fumble that went out of bounds through the end zone. Lost to Munday in the final minute 19-22 and then to Seymour to close the season 21-24. Wasn't meant to be!Comanchealumni06 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 22, 2021 12:54 pm With the inclusion of 4 playoff teams, I don’t see Refugio or Shiners streaks ending anytime soon either. During that span, neither team has been worse then 1st or 2nd either. Crazy

The streak would be 50 to 70 years for Refugio if 4 teams had been allowed. lol

Re: Playoff Streaks
We had a "scare" in 2007!! Actually backed into the playoffs on a tiebreaker when Petrolia smoked Archer City 35-8 in the season finale. Had Archer won they would have Archer had been the 2 seed in the small school division. Instead, since we had beat Petrolia 33-12 and were at +Max -7 we had the 3-way tiebreaker as Petrolia was 0, and -Max +7. We had a 1st round bye, then upset undefeated Gorman 14-0 who was averaging 50+ in the second round. Gorman's schedule was very suspect, to say the least!!. Beat Eagle1's team 39-15 in the next round before losing to State Champion Munday 16-17. Munday tried to give us the game, they fumbled a punt which we returned 20ish yards for a TD, on a punt attempt the punter kicked it into his upback for a safety. We had the ball in the waning minutes and had crossed midfield for like only the second time in the game and we nearing FG range. The kicker had kicked a 41 yard FG in the state championship game the year before (2nd longest in a State Championship game). We attempted to run a counter option but put the ball on the turf and Munday recovered and ran out the clock. They cruised to a state title beating Sundown 47-0 the next week and then Bremond in the State Championship 26-6. We finished the year 6-7, only 2 "bad" losses, in my opinion, were toganadofan1 wrote: ↑Sat May 01, 2021 12:30 pm Windthorst and Shiner would be about 30 years if not for 2009 and 1997.
Fort Worth Christian and Archer City. Other losses were to 3A Holliday (3-15-2 all time), 2A State Champion Canadian, 1A Div II State Champion Munday 2X, and Seymour 1A Div I State Runner-up.

We've also made it as a fourth-place team in 2015. We won our Bi-District game 34-12 against Forsan before losing to Wellington 34-14. We were up 14-0 after the 1st quarter but that was all she wrote it was all Wellington after that.

I'm more impressed that you have to go back to 1999 was the last time they didn't win a Bi-District Championshi[. A couple of years they had byes in the 1st round and lost in the 2nd round but still impressive.
