I would agree, but their new coach had success at his previous stop. He must have gotten tired of finishing second to Welllington. They advanced to at at least the second round all 4 years he was at Wheeler. Either he saw the writing on the wall, perhaps the "natives" were restless finishing behind Wellington or the cupboard isn't as bare as we think at Hamlin. As long as Hamlin stays out of Albany's district much easier to win a district championship in Hamlin than Wheeler where you will be paired with Wellington always.

Change was needed for all parties involved, coaches, kids, board, admin. And a lot of movement has occurred in Hamlin. Im agree with Windthorst for Evans it was a good move as far as districts, Hamlin will still compete out of the gate in this district. Evans will be given time to build and good groups of kids are coming. Sorry JR it’s not a total bust like after Scott was fired by a crooked admin. Too many ppl support and invest in these kids to let that happen again.

Wondering if you will elaborate on this part? Seems like Lucas is arguably one of the most successful, if not THE most, in Hamlin history. Why was everyone so eager for change? I know when a coach stays somewhere for a long time there will inevitably be people who are upset with them and want them gone. Just seems crazy to want to get rid of such a successful coach.

Eager isn’t the right word, we would all still love to have him. I just know majority could feel the shift several years back, and it got louder and less productive as a whole.
