Re: Division I Alignment
Back to region 2 for Goldthwaite with a large district in numbers and teams. We always get screwed.

I'm quite sure Mason would love to have you in their district to get rid of the 5 team district. We are about the only one within 200 miles. It's going to be hard filing that 6th game. I haven't talked to any of the coaches, but I bet they are ready to pull their hair out over this alignment.

Re: Division I Alignment
Yeah, I really figured they would put San Saba and Goldthwaite with Masons district. Never did I expect them to put Stockdale with them… So much for avoiding making schools drive through large cities at traffic hour! I can’t believe they did that… who makes these decisions?

We’ll take The Armadillos off your hands. 5 team districts suck worse than big ones! And WTH happened with Junction? Thought they were getting smaller.
Stockdale Brahamas - that’s rich! Don’t know that we’ve ever played them before, and they are on the other side of San Antonio! Oh well - we got rid of Brackettville and we aren’t with Anthony, so I’ll quit griping.

Re: Division I Alignment
And Shiner and Refugio in the same district? I didn’t expect that. You put your best 2 Region 4 teams in the same district? It sucks having to play a team twice. And I have no doubts by this alignment, that will probably happen this season. Poor Bloomington…. Those guys are gonna be on the wrong end of some super lopsided scores this season.

Appreciate that sentiment, just like we appreciate and support the Comanches - well, except when we play.Comanchealumni06 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 03, 2022 11:42 amI’m not sleeping on them Punchers either. Weird how you guys went south to join Refugio when all your closest neighbors went north. Thoughts?

Re: Division I Alignment
I think it’s kinda dumb to be honest. They could have lumped Shiner into a district up north and kept Stockdale south in D15. Could have put Sonora in D14 and kept that Anthony district at only 5. There’s much more travel there. Could’ve slipped Hearne into D12 as well. I personally think Shiner will be fine either way. But I figured keeping Shiner and Refugio apart until playoffs was a better proposition for the UIL. D16 is exactly what I thought it would be. But they butchered D13, 14 and 15. Especially D14!
