Who is the mid-season suprises in 2021.

Post. In the state championship game a year ago and struggling.

Noticed in DCTF they only returned 1 off starter and 3 Def starters. Much like Hamlin they lost a ton.

Coleman is the team I didn't see coming.

We're going to learn a lot about Coleman on Friday night 10/22 at Hufford field when Cisco comes to town.

I don't think anyone really saw Coleman coming... Congratulations to them on their BIG win over Cisco.

Cisco will regroup, they are too good to stay down long. They will make some noise in the playoffs...

Post graduated everybody just about, that one I saw coming. They have too good a program to be down long, they will be back...

Last year's team had a ton of talent and it was just not that noticeable, but their numbers are down and have been trending that way for some time. I hope that things can turn around for them, but it is looking like they have some similarities to Munday's situation, with the continued decreasing numbers. I hope that this is not the case, as I have always thought a lot of the Jones County Rivalry.

I don't know much about Hamlin. I know last year senior class was produced practically 99.9% of their stats on both sides of the ball according to the stats on Maxpreps. Wonder why their numbers are down? Was it due to that senior class being special so no one played knowing they wouldn't see the field. I know when that group was sophomores and we played them in the playoffs one of the players kept mouthing that we were getting beat by a bunch of sophomores. Lo and behold we had a bunch of sophomores on our team as well...their TEA enrollment numbers show they will be at 120-130 students for the next 6 years. New coach will need to get participation numbers up to build a program.

Well, I certainly cannot talk like I know a lot about Hamlin, but I do have some friends that live there and another that I worked with... Their information has not been very good. Problems with moral, the coaching change, and the decreasing participation as well as the talk of going 6-man. Couple this with the overall lack of economics of the town and people moving out. I would like to hear from someone that knows truly what is going on. Maybe 'Piper' can shed some light and give us a little information or his opinion as to what is truly going on...

I know that Hawley is also a small town, but most of the people in Hawley work in Abilene and truly survive on Abilene's infrastructure. We are close enough that this works out in our favor and are lucky for sure...

Most people that live in small towns live off the infrastructure of a larger community!

Interesting that they are close to 6man numbers. Last years 20-21 TEA Enrollment shows the following class sizes:
12th 25
11th 32
10th 35
9th 30
8th 27
7th 36
6th 27

So the count that is done in the near future will include 8th grade through 11th of the above, that's a 124 students

I looked at report for 2019-2020 which the last alignment was based on it tied to the 105 students they were counted
that year they had the following students
12th 25
11th 24
10th 30
9th 26

Unless there is a "mass" exodus don't see how they will have 6 man numbers. Wonder how many of these are transfer students? I know there was a school south of us that told their transfers they were no longer accepting transfers so their numbers would fall into 1A. I know Holiday to the west is no longer accepting transfers.
