Hawley needed everyone of those 35 carries as we were playing keep away from Stamford... Stamford's offense when it is clicking can score very quickly, but they cannot score if they are standing on the sideline watching... So, that is what Hawley's Coach Ables did, well played IMO...

After watching the film, they adjusted his stats to correct Austin's total yardage to 320 yards rushing on 34 carries. This is what was submitted to MaxPreps. Great night for this young man... Congratulations.... Go Bearcats !!!

Oh no doubt! Y’all had a much more competitive game to play. And he is yalls primary option in the backfield. Kudos to this young man. And the coach.

I just made the comment I did because you’ll likely not see those type of numbers from a single player in our offense. Too many weapons to spread the wealth to. And our starters rarely play past halftime. Just how it goes right now.

We needed him again last night with a BIG win for us to lead the district at 3 and 0, Austin Cumpton carried the ball 31 times with mostly 8 man fronts for 133 yards and a touchdown. We played from behind most of the game, but did not let Anson score at all in the second half and we made defensive stop after defensive stop. Once we took the lead, we turned it over to the young sophomore running back to get us the hard yards... Leading 21 to 20 he drove us to the Anson 6-inch line and the critical first down. Coach Ables being a class act and a smart coach, took three knees and gave the Bearcats the win. What a great win for Hawley and gives us the lead in district on our way to the first time in school history to actually three-peat for a District Championship. Stay tuned for Hawley History to be made... Great Job Young Bearcats Team !!! Go Bearcats !!!!!
