Shiner will be very competitive in softball again this next season. Probably end up in the D2 bracket for playoffs again, opposite Ganado. Since both Danbury and Weimar are in Shiners district now as well. Only Burton and Louise I think have a lower enrollment then Shiner.

And of course Comanches return bunches of talent on the football field as well! These are solid baseball players as well. Shiner should be very competitive in the usual sports, Football, Softball and baseball.

Ganado is Division I as the largest school

Ganado 217
Weimar 214
Danbury 210
Shiner 201
Flatonia 199
Burton 158
Louise 143

I hate the way UIL does divisional play for the other sports....

I missed Flatonia coming in slightly smaller. However, it’s very likely either Weimar or Danbury or both qualify for playoffs as well. Which is why I believe Shiner will go D2 again.

Ganado Weimar d1

Danbury Shiner d2

I don't see Flatonia making the playoffs in softball unfortunately due to Danbury being included.

Burton is no slouch either, I think 4th could come down to them and Weimar.

Hardest softball district easily in 2a and pound for pound hardest in the state by far.

If baseball is the same I would argue it's up there and maybe the best in 2a also but idk about all classifications like softball.

I feel the pain on this. No matter what, we had Lipan or Graford waiting in Bi-District the last two years.

That's who we catch now!!! I think back in the late 90s, early 2000s we were in a district with both of them as well as Brock. Before 6-man schools were 1A.

I’ll answer my questions.

I expect Ganado and Shiner to be easy top 2 in the district this year, and I think Shiner enjoys playing underdog here. I’ll go against the grain and say they win District 15.

I’ll take Ganado for the region in revenge.

Give me Mason in Region 2 and Joaquin in 3. Not sure Region 1 is going to matter in Division 1, but give me Post.

As for Weimar, I’m leaning 3rd place, but 4th is where most have the Cats. I’m just not buying Kenedy’s ability to run, block and play defense this year. Jackson and Russell will still be studs.

Bold prediction for the Cats? I’ll say a 3rd round game against Ganado and closer than you think. The Cats are young and the young talent will have become seasoned by then.

After official weigh ins yesterday and seeing what is the rough depth chart, I’m fairly certain your Newcomer of the year on O &D are coming from Weimar.
