Rio Vista banned from Postseason Play:Recruiting
Evidently UIL is gonna go after mice while getting trampled by elephants( 6A & 5A blatant recruiters.) Rio Vista is banned from postseason play for 2025 due to alleged "inducements" of 7-on-7 players to play for the Eagles. This is literally called Tuesday for the big boy programs. It is frustrating and typical for UIL to take this path of action.

This was a DEC ruling and not UIL. Kind of crazy the DEC found no evidence the coaches were involved, yet came down with a playoff ban. This reeks of jealousy that the kids wanted to play together. It will be interesting to see how the appeal to UIL plays out.

I heard rumors of this last week when Hico played their game at Rio Vista. Heard several players where transfers from near by Cleburne.
So does that mean Rio Vista forfeits their win against Hico ? I know the transfers did play at that game.

I would guess so if UIL upholds the DEC's decision. I have no idea what is right but supposedly these transfers transferred back to their original schools when grumblings in town started and they are playing for those schools.
A few years back our rivals had a transfer from Wichita Falls, they "recruited" him to their school when he started 7th grade. So when he got into HS he recruited a couple of his buddies to come play. No big deal. yada yada. Anyway the kid plays his junior season at this rival, but decides he wants to attend a school in WF so he leaves after football season to attend school at the WF school. Well he finds out his house is not in the school boundaries he wants to attend in WF and he would be ineligible. So he comes back to the original school he was out and after sitting out like 10 days was eligible to play the rivals. Munday had a kid back in 2012 that transferred in from Mineral Wells to get a ring with his family members. Munday didn't need him they were going to win that year irregardless of whether the kid played. Anyway after football season, the kid transferred back to MW so he could play baseball as Munday didn't play baseball back then.

Thank you for the gentle correction. The UIL is consistent in that they did nothing about it. It was as @Windthorstfan pointed out, the District Executive Committee.
Watch the UIL reinstate Rio... LOL.

Chilton has a couple move in’s this year and it shows.
One from Killeen and one from Chicago.
I guess the latter entered the HS portal?
Lol

You typically have to do something really pretty dumb and overt to get caught, which is why it seems arbitrary. For programs that have been successful for a while you'll note that they'll always have a good stream of players move in. People can live where they want and people who have athletic kids will choose to live where they can have a chance for success. It's been that way for a long time and it's not gonna change. Despite the stacked decks programs new to success are still able to rise up and beat the top dogs from time to time while some of those top dogs slip and fade from their former glory. It's all just another layer of this fantastic sport.

Is Rio Vista appealing? They weren't on yesterday's SEC agenda nor are they 9.18.25 agenda
Re: Rio Vista banned from Postseason Play:Recruiting
On what grounds would their appeal be ? I mean everybody knew they were recruiting. I personally heard parent talking at the concession stand line before the game. They were talking about probably having to forfeit the opening game, but who cares it was a non district game. They knew at least one transfer would likely be ruled ineligible. It was the playoff ban that surprised them at the end.Windthorstfan wrote: ↑Tue Sep 09, 2025 11:34 am Is Rio Vista appealing? They weren't on yesterday's SEC agenda nor are they 9.18.25 agenda
