2023 DIV. 1 PLAYOFF BRACKET & DIST. STANDINGS
Re: 2023 DIV. 1 PLAYOFF BRACKET & DIST. STANDINGS
What a pickle.
If Goldthwaite beats Hamilton then Goldthwaite will have finished the last game of the season with a win and something to feel good about heading into the offseason.
However if Hamilton beats Goldthwaite then that will knock San Saba out of the playoffs and give Hamilton the final spot.
So either way it’s small morale victory for Goldthwaite.
Now if we don’t have a successful season next year then something has to give. We will be returning a lot of very talented players to our varsity team.
No more excuses.

Anyone who could revel in his own team's lose sounds like a loser to me. Wonder if the players would like to be told to celebrate when they lose.

Did San Saba even get a first down on Tolar tonight?Ropechoker wrote: ↑Thu Nov 02, 2023 4:49 pm Anyone who could revel in his own team's lose sounds like a loser to me. Wonder if the players would like to be told to celebrate when they lose.
Nonetheless see you on the court.

I think only one or two 1st downs, probably negative yardage. No surprise though I figured it would even be worse if that is possible. With our star running back out with a bad ankle it took the heart out of all the rest. Just as well would not have faired well in the playoffs anyway. I do not see any reason for four teams advancing.

But there’s always the outlier, look at D15 vs D16 year in and year out. I think D15 skunks D16 again this year in bi-district. I know there’s other examples of this out there too.

He was the best in district with Tolar’s Brown out until yesterday. Hope he has a speedy recovery and gets to play other sports.
