Easily Shiner @ East Bernard

A good one is also Schulenburg and Flatonia.

I don't know a whole lot else in terms of what else is going on in 2a this week. West Orange Stark and Newton is a hell of a matchup but that is 3a and 4a I believe.

Yes that Schulenburg/Flatonia game is being highly overlooked. Those 2 squads are just about evenly matched from what I’m seeing! That game could decide 2nd and 3rd in district. Both teams could potentially be top 10 teams.

Hamlin vs. Anson should be good. Will gauge how Anson is this year. Hamlin should pull out the W, but shouldn't be a blowout.

I barely was able to get a ticket for the Ganado-Weimar game. I was going to try and get a ticket to Goldthwaite-Florence. The HC at Florence is from Ganado and I played with him in hs at Ganado. I am going to the UH vs Baylor game Saturday at 11 am. I figured what the heck, travel up that way and catch a game. I was interested in the Cameron Yoe-Lexington game but it got canceled. Another one was the Bellville @ Rockdale.

All in all, I will be catching Ganado vs Weimar then driving up to Rockdale and staying the night before UH-Baylor. Go Coogs!!!

The Schulenburg/Flatonia game will, in my opinion, determine the seeding in the Region 4 playoffs, early in the season. Districts 14 and 16 are really a non factor in the playoffs, unless something really changes. Right now in Region 4, I have Refugio and Shiner at 1 and 2, and Flatonia and Schulenburg at 3 and 4. Both Flatonia and Schulenburg will go into Refugio's side of the brackets. The third place team from District 13 would play Refugio the second round of the playoffs and the runner up in District 13 would play Refugio the third round of the playoffs. Refugio will play tougher playoff teams, and Shiner should breeze through the playoffs headed to the region championship with Refugio. The only team that I think might upset this is Mason. I know they have not done well so far, but I still feel like they can get things headed in the right direction, and be a tough out in the playoffs.

Ohh trust me, Mason will never be counted out. Shiner has a long history with them too.

For me, Cisco vs Jim Ned :)
Cisco has some good athletes, but has struggled some against it's 3A div 1 opponents. They are improving, but still have some things to clean up. Jim Ned will be (another) good test!

39-20 Jim Ned.
Kinda what I was expecting. Turnovers and big plays killed us in the second half.

How about Shiner winning 13-7 in OT over #3 3a d2 East Bernard? Shiner had 7 turnovers and still won. Good and bad news. I don't think they will beat Refugio with 7 turnovers. Good news, if they have none or a few turnovers they beat EB soundly.
