Goldthwaite vs San Saba.
This year marks the 106th meeting between the two rivals slated as the “Battle of the River”.
You will be hard pressed to find more heated rivalry in the state than this one.
You can throw out the records when these two teams play each other. This year’s game has more at stake than just bragging rights. Goldthwaite needs a win if they want to keep their playoff hopes alive. With San Saba’s loss last Friday night to Bangs they pretty much lost any chance of making the post season this year. However they would like nothing more than to spoil any chance that Goldthwaite could have at making the playoffs. So with that said the Eagles better be prepared to treat this game as a playoff game and not take their loss to Bangs for granted. Hopefully the Eagles will also remember how San Saba continued to try and score as many points as possible last year when they had the game in hand.
Go Eagles!
Leg Drive Leg Drive….
Ball Game Ball Game….

Someone has to get fourth place in the district between Goldthwaite, San Saba, Bangs, and Hamilton. Could come down to point differential.

I’m pretty sure San Saba is out with their loss to Bangs.
If we can beat San Saba at the graveyard then it will come down between us and Hamilton in the last district game.
DeLeon and Coleman will most likely play for second and third place.
Tolar can go ahead and order their rings this year.

As far as I know they were all 11 man games, and San Saba leads the standings except during the time that coach Proffitt was here.

Actually San Saba has the easier path since they own the tie-breaker with wins over both Hamilton and Goldthwaite. The Eagles really need Bangs to beat Hamilton next week, and an Eagle win over Hamilton in Week 11. Hamilton and Goldthwaite both need a 3-Way Tie-breaker system that i
ncludes Bangs.
Last years 4th place team out of this district went 3 rounds deep in the playoffs.

Ya, now that they beat us in a game we should have won.
I agree we are in the toughest district in the state.
I will say that they have one of the best running backs in the area.

Helps when you play the weakest district in the State in Bi-District… District 15, 4 and 11 were ranked higher than 5 last year.
