I realize this is early. But it’s actually only a few months away lol. Have y’all heard any rumors on numbers? Any schools that could be going up or dropping down? Always fun to talk about this lol.

so crunched the numbers for our district and if the UIL were to keep the 164.4 limit 3 or 4 teams would be moving up if these numbers stay the same. but im sure the limit will go up but i don't think enough to keep roscoe or miles in district or even the division. Abilene TLCA is a interesting case in that if they used 4 grades to get enrollment then they are clearly a 2a D1 school next year but if they do like they did for the previous enrolment and just use 3 grades x 1.33 they stay comfortable in 2a d2 and likely in district with cross plains Hamlin and likely Albany. like always it comes down to what the limit is. i looked at 6 man schools in the area and none of them are going to be moving up unless they decide to play 11 man with 6 man enrollment numbers. a likely replacement for any teams that move up would be winters that looks like they will have 153 for next enrolment and move down from 2a d1. i will be interested to see how things change with snap shot day numbers.

Roscoe 179
Hamlin 115
Miles 174 or higher
Cross Plains 117
Albany 167
Abilene TLCA 190 or 159

West of Waco.
1. Does Meridian go to 6-Man
2. What numbers does Blum turn in. Their 6-Man turf field was built so it could be adjusted to play 11-Man.

Only one I’ve got so far in this area is Danbury. They are likely coming down from 3AD2 to 2AD1. I got this info from a solid source. Allegedly their numbers are in the 220s. Shiner should be roughly the same. Around 210 I’m guessing. Danbury dropping would certainly change the district formats in Region 4. They would be the only school in that area just south of Houston. Which could certainly force a district with Shiner, Flatonia, Weimar, Schulenburg, Ganado and possibly Bloomington. Only thing that would make sense. Those are by far the closest schools to them. The next closest would be West Hardin on the other side of Houston towards Beaumont. I just don’t see that happening as no other schools in that division are even close to West Hardin either.

I think Anthony moves up to 3A. Van Horn will move up from 6-man. Think Seymour will move up to Div I. Muenster was around 175 so they could possibly move up.

I bet some schools are sighing at least a little more relief about Anthony going up. Van Horn is at least a little closer.

Hearing that Dekalb & Paul Pewitt very likely could drop into 2A D1. If so, they very well may end up in a district with Cooper. That would be a really good district with Cooper, Dekalb, Pewitt & Honey Grove.

Hmmn, sounds like a lot may drop. If too many are below the numbers posted last alignment. Could it affect whether or not they actually increase the top end numbers?

I’m sure they will try to balance the number of schools in each division, so yes that will ultimately determine the top number.
