Looks like Refegio is starting to distance themselves from everyone in track this year. They lead 2a in the 100, 200, 400, 4x100 & 4x400. Saw they ran a 3:26 in the mile relay, super impressive this early in the year! Let's see if they can beat that 2017 Crawford mile relay team that ran a 3:18 at state. Still the fastest 2a mile relay team I've ever seen.

Just saw that Centerville ran a low 3:23 at the Texas Relays and Mart clocked in a 3:25 for the 4x400m. Looks like the mile relay will be strong across the board this year!

Saw where Refugio was disqualified from the 4x200 relay for having an ineligible runner. Apparently he ran in more than 3 events during the meet. Unfortunate

They still scored 88 points to win the region title going away.

I know they did very very well. They are absolutely stacked with speed! I’m just talking about this one relay lol.

Refugio ran two alternates. They ran 42.3 on Friday with their regular team just FYI. Unfortunately, the coach blunder in the 4X 200 relay probably cost Refugio a shot at the title. I think Timpson will win it all this year. Refugio will have to have everything go perfectly to win it now. It is fun to watch Campbell run the 200 but without him running on the 800 meter relay also cost Refugio a shot. Those are a big 6-10 points extra then him winning the 200.

Yes, losing those 6-10 points will hurt but the team state championship competition will be tight. Might come down to Refugio needing to finish no worse than 2nd in the mile relay to win by a point depending on how the rest of the day goes. 400m could be the key race for Refugio have a change to win it going into the mile relay, 200M probably the key race for Timpson if they can “steal” some points there. Think they qualified 4th and 5th. Every day is a new day but Bussey’s qualifying time in 100m is 6th, so that could also lock it up for Timpson

I actually hate to see this. Was rooting for Refugio to win the track title this season! Hope them boys can still pull it off!
