Possiblity of a 7a classification

Post by Albanyfan0678 »

So I know realignment is a good ways away but iv hear some talk about the possibility of a 7a classification for the next round of realignment or the next after that. My question is would that affect 2a very much or at all? Mostly concerned about making the enrollment requirements narrower. If so some schools could be moved up to 3a and some switch divisions form 2 to 1.

I’m not sure they’ll come back down. Truth of the matter is, they’re still not building new small schools. Especially not at this level. I think it will just lower the number of 6A schools

Well that's somewhat comforting. In comparison to the upper classifications it's very little movement needed in enrollment to get schools moving to different divisions and classifications. That said I think no matter where a school ends up they need to be ready to play to win on Friday nights.
