Wild how Hawley ended up with under 40 kids. I know Hawley has really come on as a community and are a supportive base. Hamlin has been under and around 6-man for years now. We have had around 40 most years. Enrollment up to 116 and this is lowest I can remember at 34.

I heard that from a friend. 65 does seem way down for that program. Seemed like they were always up around 90 or so. Heard about the junior high too. And supposedly their peewee groups are low in numbers as well…. Don’t know if that last part is true or not. Just wonderIng.

As far as Shiner, I haven’t heard anything about their numbers… none of my sources seem to know this season. Of course those guys were parents who’s sons or family members graduated. So I’ve gotta find a new source lol.

It’s not the Freshman class, it is the Senior class. Talking to a friend of mine who played there and coached there now, there are 12-15 boys in the senior class that don’t play which is very unusual. My buddy said their two biggest classes are the 9th & 10th graders

I think the hurricane of 2017 didnt help Refugio isd. They lost alot of kids due to housing after hurricane. People thst lost their homes had nowhere to go...so many moved. That would have been a good time to combine with Woodsboro would put totsl at 340 or so. But school keeps shrinking bring on Aqua Dulce i guess. I was reading in 1968 refugio had over 500 students...guess that explains their 7500 seat stadium.

TEA Enrollment Report for Refugio 2021-2022 school year (not sure how or why they would differ from UIL realignment, then UIL allows half students!)
Class of '22 63
Class of '23 43
Class of '24 46
Class of '25 67 (34 Boys)
'22 Realignment number 219 (UIL realignment shows 215.5)
Class of '26 69 (40 boys)
Class of '27 45 (22 boys)
'24 Realignment Number 227
Class of '28 51 (27 boys)
Class of '29 43
'26 Realignment number 208
Class of '30 52 (23 boys)
Class of '31 46 (25 Boys)
'28 Realignment Number 192
Class of '32 42 (23 Boys)
Class of '33 54 (22 Boys)
'30 Realignment Number 194

Appears to be firmly entrenched in Div I for the foreseeable future.

Yeah I don’t see them dropping for awhile. If they do it’s going to be a slow movement.

After talking to a buddy who is at the scrimmage, sounds like Shiner has a total of 50 out there between JV and Varsity.
