I have no idea how De Leon turned in 240. There are apparently a whole lot of kids enrolled who aren’t contributing in the athletic extracurriculars. The 240 is almost impossible to believe in that context.

But I don’t think there are a ton of hidden gems just not playing, either. Just a really rough run for Coach Marwitz. I do think there are brighter days ahead. A really nice run of talent from Junior High down through elementary right now.

De Leon has become a very transient community. Lots of move-ins who don’t participate. I’m hearing the numbers will be 3A Division 2 for awhile with large numbers in the Junior High and Elementary.

I look at Pettus, Bruni, Runge and Benevides. None of these schools have had great success in recent memory with the exception of Bruni for a few seasons… I’m pretty sure they’re all on the D1 end for 1A. They could all drop and potentially create a district. I could think of several other schools in this region without a football team they could potentially ask to join them. I know that’s a pipe dream, but why not? Lol

We, at Hico, just got through with that the last couple of years. Good kids , but not very athletic. Good athletic classes coming up.

You are seeing more teams drop to 6-man as more schools open up programs, especially in the private school program. This making travel more bearable, and budget friendly.

Carl Padilla is predicting 2A numbers to be; D2 95 teams 105-162 plus opt ups, D1 98 teams 163-239.

Looks like a district with Collinsville, Lindsay, Era, Chico, and Muenster makes too much sense not to happen. Would be tough for Collinsville to go East as most of those schools are Div 1. That would send Windthorst and Petrolia back West. I know Collinsville has never been in district Windthorst but has caught Petrolia a handful of times before.

That’s good news for Cooper. Whitewright would come down if that’s the case & slide into that district with Tioga, Tom Bean, Trenton etc... HornetFan, didn't you say that Boles would be going up this time probably? I wonder if they would take the place of Celeste in that Cooper district?

2002-2004 Alignment Petrolia was sent east with Collinsville, Era, Lindsay, Muenster, and Saint Jo while we had Albany, Archer City, Perrin-Whitt, Santo and Throckmorton. 2002 we ran lonesome man to beat Albany 14-6, which was the play we socred against Wellington last year.

Seymour and Quanah are on Padilla's cut line to go up. Olney will be DI. AC, Electra, Munday, Petrolia, and us in a 5 team district.

Abilene TLC, Cross Plains, and Albany are likely a packaged deal.
