Any projections out there yet on what the cutoff will be for 2A D1?

Probably about 234. There have been some D2 teams to drop to 1A therefore the numbers will go up to add replacements to D2 numbers.

Yeah, 234 will be a good bet. A poster from Timpson on the Football Friday forum really thinks that they will go 3A this next alignment.

Timpson's enrollments from last year in 8th grade to 11th grade, which is this year's high school.
8th 48
9th 59
10th 47
11th 65

That's only 219 students.

I don't think Coach Therwanger would like going 3A this quick. He's built a good program in Timpson just like he did in Lovelady. 219 will not get him close to 3A numbers.

Heard Cooper may be around 235. Hoping it’s a little lower than that. Cooper will end up being the biggest 2A or the smallest 3A.

That’s why I post about it here. Figured I would get a more knowledgeable answer. Thanks

I get my data from the TEA website for enrollment reports. There is obviously a year lag but you can at least make a somewhat educated guess looking at class sizes. Not sure how much movement either way in the small schools from year to the next. The report I use shows the enrollment for pre-k through 12th grade.
