Shiner.. They lost tons of talent to graduation last year therefore I expected a big drop off this year. that's not happening. I knew Post was in the same boat as Shiner on returnee's but surprised how they don't seem up to the challenge this year.

I’m not surprised Shiner is where they are. Sure, they lost some very good players, but they returned, at least, their best two players from last year. They have a good program where they can normally replace players lost due to graduation. I don’t think there will not be much of a drop off in Shiner for several years.
It’s a pretty good day when you’re on your way and you like where you’re going, and you’ve got what you want and you want what you’ve got and you’re wise enough to know it.

Mostly Region I
Clarendon being 5-0.
Forsan also being 5-0, and ranked in Top 10.
Panhandle being 0-4, after preseason picks had them favored to win District. Most likely, they will be 0-5 after facing Shallowater this week.
Post being 1-4, and very possibly going to 1-6 after facing Sundown and New Deal.
Hamlin being 0-5, having scored 13 points on the season after being a legit contender last season. They get rewarded with hosting Windthorst this week.
Wellington...who the heck knows. Thought they might hold serve as R1 champ this year, and they have had a very 'un-dominant' non-district slate so far. I would not bet against them yet, but it's getting harder to believe...

Coleman is the team I didn't see coming.

Wellington 44 Jacksboro 12 led 36-0 at half. They had 3 TD passes in the game 11, 37, and 21 yards. Ramirez rushed for 165 yards on 21 carries. Jacksboro defeated City View 40-16 the previous week, who Windthorst defeated 34-0 last week.TroRAntelope wrote: ↑Wed Sep 29, 2021 3:52 am Wellington...who the heck knows. A little late but nonetheless, Roscoe is currently 5-1. Lost to Hawley in the season opener 14-34. They defeated Ralls 26-14 in their district opener. Lockney is the other contender in the district. They close with Roscoe and then Ralls.
