That was a heck of a game. Shiner needed that game. Congrats to Big Doug!

Full disclosure, Davenport has no Seniors, right? Playing an outlaw schedule as a 2nd year school?

Shiner's record and reputation are hard earned and well-deserved, but that's not the same thing as taking down an established 5A team.

So being a school that big and having enough kids to be 5A doesn't give them a larger talent pool?

They have roughly 900 kids now. Will be around 1200 I’m assuming next year

Not having Seniors at the High School level makes a difference. I didn't say anything about actual school population. A win's a win, but I disagree with the notion that it's like beating a normal 5A squad. That takes nothing away from Shiner. They don't need any explaining away of anything.

Thanks for your opinion. I see what you're saying and yes it makes a difference but this was a 5A vs. a 2A so.... Nice job! and against a 5A school! Congrats!
