We had a scrimmage. We gained some yards, scored multiple touchdowns, and made some tackles on defense. We might be in the running for 2021 Scrimmage State Champions!!! But not what we are playing for as we have bigger fish to fry!!!

On a more serious note, our ones scored 3 times against Nocona (1-9) in 18 plays. The defense limited them to a couple of first downs. We played physical, we played fast. Potential to have a decent season. Again Nocona was 1-9 last year, going through a coaching change but was pleased in that we did what you are supposed to do against lesser teams. Next week against Lindsay will "tell" us more.

Our JV 1s outscored IP freshman 2-0, but the 2s were outscored 0-1 by Nocona's JV.

Goldthwaite 1
Early 0
The lone score came on overtime part at the end of the game.

Goldthwaite JV 1
Early 0.

Overall our defense looked impressive in both scrimmages.
Last year Early scored several times, so we have improved vastly.

Hico/Deleon scrimmage.

Varsity : Deleon 2 or 3 - to 0 TDS for Hico.

JV : Deleon 1-0

Good scrimmage for both teams. Did things well, but has ares to improve on. Best news is no serious injuries on either side.

Industrial 4 Shiner 2. New offense looks rusty, and defense. Couple of key lineman went down in the first few plays… hopefully their injuries aren’t too bad. Shiners 1s beat Industrial 1-0 in the 2nd set. First teams were Cobras 2 Comanches 1 overall. So they slowly got better as the scrimmage moved along. A lot of new pieces on that Oline and a new QB that didn’t expect to play QB anymore. Got some growing pains. But I think they’ll be fine by district.

Heard Flatonia had 4-0 over Palacios and whoever Schulenburg beat they didn't put a score. Schulenburg has been scheduling rather easy non district and racking up the wins and come district been a different story the last 3 years.

I am heading out to go see Ganado vs Wallis Brazos.

I saw on Youtube Refugio dominated a Tidehaven team that didn't look very good. I sure hope we can beat them or else imho we haven't improved much.

Ganado beat Wallis Brazos 3-1. We had our best 2 linemen out and best wr. We didn't run our qb at all and threw the ball more than normal. It was used as a scrimmage should be. Work on things and get better. We rotated guys often and had 5-7 freshmen play quite a bit on Varsity.

We will have several freshmen on varsity. I like the overall talent we have which is young.

Hamlin had a practice against Reagan County and Miles. And that’s what it was for our offense. First full speed against not our freshman, new offense. New coach, New scheme, new kids (3 returners on the line and soph RB). Kids in and out working for all positions in the backfield. Stop and learn pace so no rhythm to it on offense. Defensively running same defense. Kids stepped in, and went to work. Looked good and same battles for starter. I like the battling for spots and the intensity it brings with it. We have more chess pieces than credited, part of the fun is watching them grow and succeed.
