I know about 12-14 years ago they started doing the linemen challenge to give them competition since the skill players had 7on7. I thought that was a good idea to give them a chance to compete against other linemen.

Anyone recall which school had the 3 kids that went to TCU about 10 years ago? Don't think they made it out of the region.

I remember that being in Dave Campbell's and you are right about them not making it very far in the playoffs in one of the years. Maud was the team.

They went 11-3 in 2007 their Junior year and 12-1 their senior year in 2008.

In 2007 they beat Cayuga who had sophomores Traylon Shead to UT and Malcom Kennedy to A&M. Maud lost in the semis 20-31 to Bremond.

In 2008 they lost to Cayuga 18-27 in the regionals who had the Shead and Kennedy commits but were now juniors.

I don't know what their skill position was like during those years but I'd like to think if it was above average they would have won state both years. If those 3 linemen had been skill position guys and you had three 3 star skill position players they would have probably won state. It all does start on the line but without skill position you can only go so far.
