Question I have is if two teams have positives on Monday and were supposed to play Friday who gets the win by forfeit if they cannot schedule a day to play?

Also...........

What happens if a top tier team has a Covid outbreak in the playoffs?

All great questions, ones the UIL probably wishes they didn’t have to answer

Yeah I do not wish to be in their shoes.

Thing that worries me is if it is the first team that reports an infection gets the loss then we are going to have schools try to hide their results until the last moment.

Pretty sure in regards to district games DEC has the say in how games not played are handled, so every district could be different. Not 2A but Holliday played with their JV against Valley View so as not take a forfeit. Luckily they won the game 8-6. Sounds like the JV is playing Callisburg this week. Not sure what is going in Holliday, but Varsity FB and the Band are in quarantine. With as many kids as they have in Band you would think the JV kids would be affected too.

SCHEDULE SCRAMBLE

District 6-2A Division II tried to prepare for potential cancelations by COVID-19. And the decisions made by the District Executive Committee have allowed much-needed flexibility. But even those weren’t enough.

The DEC altered its schedule further, adopting a play-it-by-ear format that will ensure the most important games in the district are played.

Quanah currently holds the district lead, but the Indians will remain inactive this week with schools shutting down due to COVID-19. The Indians have postponed two games.

Olney was forced to postpone last week’s matchup with Seymour due to COVID-19 but has been cleared to play this week.

Friday’s 6-2A Division II schedule includes Munday at Seymour and Electra at Olney. Archer City and Quanah are open.

All six district members return to action Thursday, Oct. 22, including Olney at Quanah, Seymour at Archer City and Electra at Munday.

Quanah hosts Seymour and Munday plays at Olney on Wednesday, Oct. 28. Munday hosts Quanah and Olney plays at Seymour on Monday, Nov. 2.

That leaves three games not played in the district, including Munday-Archer City, Olney-Archer City and Quanah-Electra. Those games will be played Saturday, Nov. 7, if playoff implications are on the line.

Hasn’t been confirmed, just a rumor currently. Hearing the Schulenburg has a spike in covid and are considering giving Shiner the forfeit win next week. Not good for Shiner cause that was the last regular season game scheduled. So Shiner could be looking at 3 bye weeks leading up to playoffs. I heard we were already looking for a game before this. So Shiner might be available for 2 games over the next few weeks.
