I’ll be down in Ganado for the JH and JV games. Really interested in the 8th and JV games. Weimar has a stacked group from 8th to 9th and I know Ganado does too.

Our jv was 0-4 but won 2 straight after move in from Edna. As of now he can't play varsity and I don't think he'll be able to at until next year.

If he moved in during school, that is correct.

Weimar JV is tough. Beat a one loss Burg by 30. Would have beat Hallettsville if not for lightning.

People here feel the 8th grade is generational (I’m still too new here to make that claim), similar to Ganado 8th last year and the Ullman class. You have JK Dobbins nephew who is built just like him, the ADs son who is 6’1 and fast, the other RB beside Dobbins who is the quickest of the bunch. They will throw it around the field if they need to.

I know Ganado has a stud RB and QB in that class. Will be a great test for both.

Munday thinks they have their best JH in years, yet we beat them 48-8 last week.

I laughed and I don't subscribe to all that jazz. It's why I said I don't really have a strong opinion yet on them. They are great right now, per results. Kids grow differently between 13/14 and Soph-Sr years, and some see their physicality click a couple years into HS versus younger ages. Saw it so many times in East Texas growing up when we would hear about X town being great in a given class then that one class ends up being average to a bit above. Usually, culture would win out in the end, and the same 2-3 schools would rule the roost. To be fair, this was 5A in the 1990s so there were a lot more kids for a sample size.

Ganado is great too from what I've sparingly seen. It's why it has my curiosity piqued. Much like Ganado's class last year (current freshmen), Weimar will start building around this one in short order.

I'd think Weimar 8th will win by 14-21. We lost to Tidehaven by a couple of tds in 8th. Our 8th is good and has around 15ish kids but we don't have a bunch of really good kids. We have a small number of talented kids.

Then why do you consistently talk about them? All I read on this, and Dave Campbell app is about this class. Greatest basketball team and now football team. Ganado and Shiner are doing the same thing. Just find it amusing.

If by consistent, its because I update the scores every Thursday? I do it for all grades, not just 8th. And you all have a thread for it. The only other time I have mentioned them (probably a couple months ago) was when they won a 6A Select Basketball tourney in Houston this past Summer. I don't care who you are, that's pretty impressive for a class of 25 boys from one school to go out and beat club teams made up of kids from Humble, Woodlands, Pearland, Magnolia, Beaumont and Tomball. They are good at Football, right now. I have no doubt the games against Ganado and Shiner would be great Football games. We know some of the parents from Shiner and I really like the Dominguez (sorry if spelling is wrong) kid from Shiner that age.

With that said, they are excellent Basketball players with a high IQ. They would beat most JV teams, in Basketball, right now, and did at one tourney in relatively easy fashion.
