Scrimmage Reports

Windthorst did what was expected of them against a below average opponent. 1's scored twice on their first 10 plays, but did throw an int that went off the WRs hand and the DB made a play and caught the deflection before the ball hit the ground. I do not recall Olney picking up a first down in the 20 plays they ran. Our 2's would have a pick 6. Unfortunately during our 2s 1st 10 plays Olney had 2 different kids throw punches and their coach pulled his team off the field and ended the scrimmage prematurely. He needs to teach his kids if they are going to throw punches to at least not punch the helmet as they could possibly break their hands! I was unable to attend the scrimmage so I don't know how chippy things were.

De Leon had their way with Eastland. Ready for the season to start for real. Kids were having fun.

Tidehaven beat Shiner 2-0 and JV tied 1-1.

We may have some real issues with Shiner and Refugio.

HICO/Santo scrimmage.

Both teams did some stuff well , and some things they need to improve on. Mo injuries to report on either side.

For those who keep touchdown counts.
1rst Team : Hico 1 TD anto 0 Santo did drive the ball well but stalled in the Red Zone twice.
2nd Teams L Hico 0 Santo 1 TD

JV: Santo had their way 3 touchdowns to Hico;s none.

De Leon had 3 touchdowns to zero for Eastland. De Leon looked like a state ranked team. Their defense completely shut down Eastland’s wing T running game.

Are y'all back on the upswing, Eagle1? I assume a lot of that talented sophomore class are earning spots on varsity this year?

I think Goldthwaite is. I expect Crawford to be better as they were young last year.

That’s what I was told too. Apparently Tidehaven has some serious size up front! My sources tell me they will be a tough out up in 3AD2 this year. But other then a few long air out plays Shiners defense held up to their size.
