Someone posted on the DCTF forums that Padilla thinks 2A/3A cut-off will be 244. Wonder what that does to divisional number? Some of these schools thinking they are dropping to Div II probably aren't!

That was me that made the post. I had 241 and he had 244, so take that FWIW.

Sburg is most certainly headed up in our district. Also, being told in Weimar to get ready to move north into a new district most likely with several 3A schools south of I10 headed into new 2A districts.

My guess is we join Thorndale and whoever makes up that district or Marlin’s district, if that indeed happens.

I wouldn’t be so sure, Schulenburg turned in 250, that’s below the last cutoff still. And as Windthorstfan pointed out, it’s looking like there will only be 210 schools under the last cutoff number of 254. Last time it was 206! That’s only 4 more schools overall in 2A. It’s actually very possible it doesn’t change at all. And Schulenburg might not be going anywhere! Also, don’t forget about Danbury out there. Weimar and Ganado are the closest 2 schools to Danbury. Them being in 2AD1 will continue to have a profound effect on region 4s alignment. We could very well be looking at 2, 8 team districts down this way. I could even see a scenario where Dilley gets bunched into D14. Making a 7 team district a possibility still.

Yours is a good take too. Very well could see them move Flatonia, Schulenburg and Weimar up north. Heck they could even take Shiner up with em too. Shiner is only 20 miles south of Flatonia afterall! Could see a D13 that consists of Granger, Thorndale, Flatonia, Schulenburg, Weimar and Shiner. They could send Danbury to a district in R3 on the other end of Houston. (Which would be a nightmare for them as far as traffic goes!) then create 2 districts with what’s left in south Texas there would be 11 remaining teams down that way. The UIL has done some crazy stuff.

No way Overton only has 156.
I counted more than 60 in their band and cheerleaders.
They have 49 football players suited up.

I don’t think so, these band kids are in high school.
I do believe they had the JV there.
Teams in division 2 doesn’t have 49 players in high school.

Shiner had 63 to start the season 9-12, so did Muenster! I almost guarantee you the Shiner band has 60 or 70. I haven’t watched them much this year though. A few years ago I was told the Shiner band had 80!

Hallettsville where my buddy coaches said he thinks they'll drop to 3a d2. He can't wait to get away from Columbus, Yoakum, and Hitchcock. I think Hitchcock is moving up to 4a anyway though.

Cutoff day is Friday. I am very curious about Schulenburg 255, Canadian 249, and Refugio 188.

My dream would be 190 to 245. That would exclude Refugio and Canadian from 2a d1.
