That's insane. 14 title games. Shiner and then Weimar coming in 2nd. Ganado is just glad to have some recent success and hopefully for 2 more years. Shiner has good genes in the community. Smart/athletic kids. Throw in tradition, continuity with coaching, hard work. Sky is the limit.

We may be getting a major transfer in the Summer from a very familiar family name in the Tri County area.

Would be a huge piece for Weimar across the 3 major sports.

The family is originally from Weimar but the kid goes to a a larger classification school right now

Interesting. Nothing wrong with getting a little boost. A certain school down south gets that pretty frequently. 😆. I will say the family is typically from there. We had 2 kids play for TCU and Syracuse and graduated from Ganado in 02 and 04. Actually with my brother and sister's classes. Their kids are very athletic. Problem is they live in Dallas and Houston... married into very wealthy families and I don't think Ganado will cut it for the in laws.

One has 2 junior twins at 6' 4" and 6' 5" 300ish pounds. They play for a private school in the Woodlands. They played at Huffman Hargrave and Willis.

We could have went toe to toe with Refugio. We really lacked upperclassmen linemen this year. 4 sophomores and 1 freshman online starter.

I don't know why but Ganado has some kids that move to Victoria, Houston, Austin, San Antonio and never look back. They think coming to Ganado is for funerals and holidays only and some won't even do that. I come as often as I can and live in a small town myself even though I commute an hour to work each way. Small town wins every time for me.

I wonder if other towns have the same issue. Ganado doesn't have the scenery of Shiner, Weimar, Yoakum, Schulenburg, Flatonia, Fayetteville, La Grange, Moulton, Hallettsville, Etc. I'd love to live in that area.

Shiner has many that do the exact same thing. But truth is it got very expensive to buy property around here. Making it almost impossible for younger generations to move back. Getting a lot of retired folks from the cities trying to buy up land around here. Or wealthy folks trying to escape to the country to a really good school district. Shiner is an target for those folks considering the overall success in both girls and boys sports not to mention the academics.

Heard y'all played at 4:00. When they lost to Louise they took bad to another level. 😆

15-0. They practice very long hours. They should cut them shorter. 😆
