Workout schedules?

Post by Eagle 1 »

I am curious as to what most teams work out schedule is for their Varsity and Junior Varsity team.
From what I was told:
Goldthwaite works out in the morning from 6:00-7:00 AM conditioning to include weight lifting and running.
Then there is a scheduled one hour PE workout in the morning hours (I’m not sure what time) but I know it’s before lunch.
Then they workout after school as well, although I don’t know the exact time. I’ll find out tomorrow and adjust accordingly.

If you know your program’s schedule I’m curious.
I know the UIL changed some things a few years ago.

There is an old saying about working smarter not harder.
That pretty much applies to everything in life.

Alot of schools have athletics as 1st period for high schoolers. So you have morning workouts or film study a hour before school and 1st period. Then on field practice after school.

At almost every school I have coached at we had morning practice for jr high (jr high also had athletics first period) high school athletics in the period before lunch. During that athletic period we either lifted or worked out in helmet and shorts (other sports had off season during this period). After school was for high school practice for whatever sport season we were in.
