It'll be interesting for sure. I was told we have 33 8th graders who play football which is unheard of for 2a and especially Ganado.

Yep. Weimar’s Freshmen class had 29 last year in 8th grade. If you can find 4-6 studs and the middle 1/3 of the class is serviceable, you really have a lot of depth for 4 years.

The current Weimar 7th grade which has a lot of older brothers in 9th started with 36. That class will be 80ish large overall once St Michael’s pours into it.

Really, anything over 22 is great for 2A

Johnson City might surprise, they looked dominant against 3A Blanco and San Antonio Cole in both of their scrimmages. Falls City friday should be a good game!

I forsee some heartbreak in the coming years for potentially multiple teams if all this I’m reading is true. Seems to be a lot of talent hitting multiple teams around the same time lol.

I agree. People say Ganado should have 5 titles and I disagree. We could have five titles. Not every team you field that could win state actually does win state.

Injuries, coaching, luck all factor in. Also a stacked classification can work against you.

For sure. I see District 15 shaping up like I saw the Kilgore-CHill-Lindale-Pine Tree district in 4A a couple years back. Where the district is fully represented in the regional semis.

That also happened I want to say around ten years ago. It was the first time I've ever see it (A for real district of doom). District with Refugio, Shiner and I can't remember the other two teams. Maybe Weimer and Kenedy? Well anyways all 4 made regional semifinals. It was one of the years where Refugio made it to the state championship game 3 years in a row. Maybe 2016?

I was in Magnolia at the time, but I could see that. Weimar and Burg were both pretty good at that time too, so I’ve heard, so you may be right on the year.

Flatonia was the other team, it was Refugio, Shiner, Weimar and Flatonia, and I believe it was 2015
