I agree. It always seems like the UIL gets involved with the smaller teams but turns a blind eye to the bigger teams.TroRAntelope wrote: ↑Fri Sep 12, 2025 9:00 am Now do Aledo.. and DeSoto...and Austin Westlake, et al.

Seeing how the coach's weren't involved I don't see how this is a UIL issue. When kids play travel ball at some point hey you should come to my school comes up! I know there was a baseball team that was formed in our area many years ago before HS ball was even a thought. There were a handful of those kids that came to Windthorst and their siblings followed. Granted those kids came in junior high so their transfers were "established"" before HS. Other schools in our area run commercials trying to draw students to their districts. A lot of the smaller schools in our area send buses to Wichita Falls to get students, granted I don't know if those are athletes.H.TIGFAN wrote: ↑Thu Sep 11, 2025 9:47 pmOn what grounds would their appeal be ? I mean everybody knew they were recruiting. I personally heard parent talking at the concession stand line before the game. They were talking about probably having to forfeit the opening game, but who cares it was a non district game. They knew at least one transfer would likely be ruled ineligible. It was the playoff ban that surprised them at the end.Windthorstfan wrote: ↑Tue Sep 09, 2025 11:34 am Is Rio Vista appealing? They weren't on yesterday's SEC agenda nor are they 9.18.25 agenda

I should add running those buses does not help their football program
Re: Rio Vista banned from Postseason Play:Recruiting
The UIL ruled.
1. The ban for Rio Vista will miss the 2025 playoffs is upheld by a vote of 4-1
2. Rio Vista will play district games coming up.
3. Dist. 7-2A will have to meet to handle tie-breaker for playoff seeding.
4. RIO Vista head foootball coach will be suspended for 2 games Oct 3 & Oct 10.
