Now I understand the World Cup logo after Brazil's 7-1 loss to Germany.

I don't really care for soccer, but I'm as patriot as they come, so I did watch the USA in a couple of games. **==

I probably did but I can't watch soccer. It's worse than basketball.

Thats funny right there, I dont care who ya are. -----What I like about soccer is the fact that it is country vs country. I wish real football could be played that way. Could you imagine a USA solid stud "all star" NFL team. No one could compete.

It surprises me how many high school football writers are huge soccer fans. I grew up on soccer and had the opportunity to play for a German team many moons ago, but turned it down since it would have meant no basketball or baseball.

now dogfan, you're a lover of no scoring, defense, slow and boring offenses, that grind out 3-4yds ever play, and watching paint dry, you should be a soccer lover, it fits your MO...LOL.

Personally best advice I can give parents is when your kids are young beat them w/ a flat soccer ball so they will never want to be around a soccer ball(Heard this from a football coach who was asked what he would do if his kids wanted to play soccer).

I was rooting for them, just didn't watch them, just could care less...IT'S SOCCER. I'd rather watch the Cowboys and Romo blow a game. I don't watch every Olympic event but can pull for USA!

I played soccer when I was a kid, but I have to admit I don't understand all the rules of the game. One interesting thing I noticed was the clock doesn't count down, it counts up and never stops even for injuries. However, they continue to play additional time in the second half for all the time during the game the ball was not in play. Kind of weird.

:-q grass hockey

I don't know why, but I just cant "get it". I appreciate and watch great athletic ability in almost anything, up to and including Olympic archery and curling....... I realize they're great athletes, the best soccer players in the world, but I just don't get it. Maybe it's because I don't have any experience with soccer.

Its not that hard to get. I to have never followed soccer until this World Cup and it is easy to pick up on. There is like 2 rules. No hands, No "flagerent fouls", and thats about it. I dont really understand the positioning but it is still cool to watch if you go into it with a positive mind. USA USA USA USA USA USA GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLL! lol

"Snow birding" is not allowed. In other words an offensive player is not allowed to get behind the defense and just wait for a ball to be kicked to him, an offensive player must be even with the last defensive player when a ball is played otherwise he is in an offsides postion.

That's the part I had a hard time figuring out who was off sides.
