Sounds like a great series between district rivals! I know Shiner was really young so I'm sure they will be back in it next year. Great season Comanches!

Yes they were very young, 3 seniors is what the school page announced. I’ve heard they’ve got a few very solid players coming up. They’ll be pretty solid next season I think.

J.C. faces Flatonia in the Regional Semifinal next. Games haven't been determined yet, but should know soon. The Bulldogs are very tough and will be a handful for the Eagles. I think Targac will be the best pitcher J.C. has seen this season and bats will need to be ready. Slawinski had an at bat and hit against Mumford, but was in a boot after the game so his health is still up in the air. If he plays this game/series, I think the Eagles have a decent chance. Either way, it should be a fun matchup that could go either way.

J.C. plays Flatonia in another one gamer. Game is Saturday 5/25/24 at Concordia University. It looks like Flatonia has graduation on Thursday and J.C. has theirs Friday which would of made a series difficult logistically. For the second week in a row the Eagles season comes down to one game.

Collinsville sweeps a scrappy Axtell team 2-1 and 11-6. Big time showdown with Valley Mills next week with a ticket to the state tournament on the line. This is going to be a good one!

As far as evenly matched teams go, it doesn't get closer than this one! Definitely going to be a fun series, good luck to the Pirates!

J.C. falls short against Flatonia 2-0. Jacobs pitched a gem with 10K 2H 0 ER, but three fielding errors by the Eagles lead to both of Flatonia's runs. Targac was as advertised holding J.C. to only 1 hit and getting 10 Ks. It's tough graduating a Senior like Jacobs who contributed so much to J.C. athletics, we wish him the best! Everyone else will be back next season though, so expect to see J.C. back in it next season. Great season Eagles! Good luck next round Flatonia!
