I remember that 2023 State Championship. Crazy game!Windthorstfan wrote: ↑Fri May 30, 2025 9:29 am Collinsville sweeps Stamford 6-1, 6-1. Collinsville scored all 12 of their runs with 2 outs.
Overton defeats Burton 8-5, 0-6, 4-1 to advance
Collinsville looks to repeat as State Champion. This is their 3rd Straight appearance at the State Tournament. In 2023, they lost to eventual State Champion Harleton 4-3 as Harleton scored 4 in bottom of the 7th with 2 outs.

That final out is hard to get sometimes! We had Collinsville down 3 in the T7 in game 3, when we ran out of pitching! 4 IP 1 H, 6 BB, 5 HBP and lost 14-13 in 10 innings. Their T10: F8, HBP, Sac 5-3, HBP, BB, Passed Ball allowed run to score, 1-3.
Re: Baseball 2025
Windthorst definitely gave us a scare, a really well coached and talented team. Reminds me a little of our series vs Valley Mills last year that went down to the wire. After that we came back and won our games in the state tournament by a combined score of 19-0. Since our battle with Windthorst this year our total score vs opponents has been Crawford 12-5 Muenster 18-6 and Stamford 12-2. We seem to be getting hotter and more dialed in at the right time. I like our odds vs Overton, but this is baseball and anything can happen. Got to get all the small things right and not let up until the last out is called.Windthorstfan wrote: ↑Fri May 30, 2025 11:05 am That final out is hard to get sometimes! Re: Baseball 2025
Centerville 6 New Home 1 for the Div I State Championship
Food for thought...
Collinsville 6 Tom Bean 2
Collinsville 6 Tom Bean 5
New Home 5 Tom Bean 1
New Home 5 Tom Bean 3
New Home's 5th trip to the State Tournament without a championship. Holliday has 12 trips without a title so New Home still has a ways to go to get that unfortunate record.

Strong win for Centerville! Congrats on the Championship! Holding New Home to just one hit is impressive imo.Windthorstfan wrote: ↑Thu Jun 05, 2025 2:53 pm Centerville 6 New Home 1 for the Div I State Championship

I prefer Stamford over New Home 13-6
Collinsville over Stamford 6-1, 6-1
Different divisions now so no more consolidated champions. I suppose we’ll have to let Maxpreps final rankings decide!
