Another season starting up. Shiner will potentially be more solid then last season. From what I’m told the current freshmen class has some solid players in their ranks. This group may start some deep runs over the next 4 years. Tell us about yalls teams. And what they’re bringing this year!

Shiner ladies are currently 10-1. Their only loss came at the hands of 5A Rosenberg Terry 5-2. They beat Van Vleck 4-0, Bay City 4-0, Rice Consolidated 10-1, Houston Cy-Park 20-4, Rice Consolidated 13-0, Navarro 4-3, Rice Consolidated 7-2, Yoakum 8-3 and Rice consolidated again 9-7

Shiner girls beat Falls City 10-3 in the first round in a one gamer on Wednesday. Advance to Area

Shiner ladies topped Charlotte 12-2 and then 14-1 to advance to round 3. They get a rematch with Weimar. Also worth noting. Ganado and Flatonia are rematching too. All 4 teams from D28 are still alive in softball.

Region I
W7 Stamford v R7 Hamlin - Stamford won both previous games by 10-0 scores. Stamford, the defending 2A State Champion, is led by Texas signee Citlaly Guiterrez

Region II
W13 Crawford v R13 Axtell - Crawford defeated Axtell 12-2 and 5-1

Region III
W21 Lovelady v R21 Groveton - Lovelady defeated Groveton 10-6 and 10-0

Region IV
R27 Thorndale v R29 Weimar

Ganado losing this past week shocked me! I thought they had a legit shot to win it all. But they slept on a talented and hungry Thorndale squad. I like Weimar in that series. They have an excellent and seasoned pitcher.

If Weimar wins have to believe 3 of 4 teams that advanced last year to the State Tournament would be the same as Stamford and Crawford both advanced too. West Sabine was the other team last year.

Weimar wins series as they win game 2 2-1. Game ending on diving catch by CF with bases loaded.
