Re: All-Time 2A State Champions
I agree with Windthorst fan, everything before 2014 on this site should be from 1A numbers. As that’s what this site originally was. And what the current classification was. There’s a lot of accomplishments not listed there that was done at the same numbers. The UIL renamed all classifications to change 6-man to 1A
Or you can list the old 1A and 2A numbers together.
Or you can list the old 1A and 2A numbers together.

Re: All-Time 2A State Champions
These are not the 2A champions! In 2011 Refugio beat Cisco for the 2A Division 2 State Championship. If it’s 2A call it 2A, if it’s not 2A don’t call it 2A. It seems pretty easy to me.
It’s a pretty good day when you’re on your way and you like where you’re going, and you’ve got what you want and you want what you’ve got and you’re wise enough to know it.

You do realize this very website used to be called 1ATexasfootball.com right? We all know about Refugio’s championships. Refugio dropped down a classification in 2014. Only the name didn’t change. But all the competition did.

Re: All-Time 2A State Champions
I understand what you, WindthorstFan, & Razorback are all saying. However, the old “1A” doesn’t exist anymore. I posted links directly from the UIL Website State Archives showing that the list I originally posted is the list of who the UIL crowned as “2A State Champions”. The UIL lists all of the most recent Champions (2014-Present) in the same group as all of the 2A Champions of the past, & lists all of the previous Champions from Class A when it was 11-Man in the 1A State Champion Archive. I am in agreement with ProfessorJones, 2A is 2A — even if the classification/enrollment #s changed. I’ve never been to Shiner’s High School (have been to Windthorst’s), but I’m betting their State Championship Trophies say “1A”.Comanchealumni06 wrote: ↑Thu May 21, 2020 5:30 pm You do realize this very website used to be called 1ATexasfootball.com right? On a side note, I’m just glad this board is open again and that we can talk about Football!!

Re: All-Time 2A State Champions
I see your point too. But the roots of this forum are what they are. Kinda have to list the 1A stuff too. I mean Shiner won the 2A title in 1986. It’s not listed either. I’m good with it. That division is 3A now.
I don’t understand why the UIL felt the need to confuse everyone with the name changes

Re: All-Time 2A State Champions
I see your point also. I can put a line in the Past Champ page between the 1A and 2A Champs and label it. But since we are 2A now we changed our name.

But hey WWW>Smallest11manschoolsandthetoughestfootballintexas.com would have been way too long to type in...
