Interesting they are allowed to play a 3 game series in the semi-finals.

Not surprised really, it’s a seperate round from the state final. What I don’t understand is why they aren’t allowing this next week. Clearly greed over a central location is what’s still fueling the state final format.

State Tournaments have always been a single elimination. Supposedly schools districts like this new format without regional tournaments, multi-day state championships as they don't have the hotel costs they once did. Granted the further you advance the bigger the check you receive from UIL!

That’s a really good point! Shiner is actually having to travel further for this semi final then they will if they advance to state this week lol. But I see the point for the state final being 1 game.
