Thank the divisional playoffs....Windthorst Girls went Division I for the first time this year in Softball as they were DII in Volleyball and Basketball. We were second smallest in Volleyball and 3rd smallest in Basketball/Softball with 140 students. Nocona was in our district for Volleyball/Basketball but we drew them in the 1st round of the playoffs in Softball they had 234 students, while this round's opponent had 243 students! I have to believe that in very near future will see the districts broken into DI and DII ahead of the playoffs.

Wow I can’t believe yall went D1! Shiner has 181 students and Weimar has 199 and went D2. Flatonia and Ganado are both over 200.

They’ve definitely got a chance! We will see, they’ve just gotta focus on their next opponent. One game at a time.

Chalk that one up to the rankings being questionable. I notice this a lot in softball rankings. I’m not sure they always take strength of schedule into the equation well. Especially at the small school level. Weimar won 8-0 and was ranked 25th.

I figured tradition and expectations of Weimar alone would help them possibly beat Woodsboro.

I know Ganado football coach Ervin said winning our 1st championship is huge. It sets the standard that it's possible.

In Volleyball we are 2nd smallest in our district so guaranteed to go Div II. In basketball, baseball and softball we are the 3rd smallest so if the 2 smaller schools make playoffs then we go DIv I.

Shiner barely survives Milano, 13-11… Milano played their hearts out! Probably played the game of their lives. Hats off to them. Lady Comanches, clean it up and regroup for next week!
