This park has been one of my families favorites over the years. It’s nestled about 40 miles or so south of College Station. The Park has 3 campgrounds all containing lake access. And a large day use area along the lake as well. This is a great fishing lake! White Bass in the spring time are second to none, they are in their spawn, and you mostly don’t even need a boat to reach em. Many people show up to wade off the banks for them. The creeks feeding this lake are hotspots to catch them too. It is also a popular water sports lake and good for swimming. There are several other parks along the lake as well if the Birch Creek unit creek gets crowded. Such as Lake Somerville State Park: Nails Creek Unit and the Army Corp of Engineers Park for example.I highly recommend!

We made another trip here at the end of March. This is a go to park annually for us. I try to hit the white bass run every year. Lots of memories for me and my wife growing up as both of our families frequented Lake Somerville when we were growing up. The video is posted below.
