Windthorst has one, perhaps at least partially financed by all the wind turbines in the area. There are some wind turbines in Cooke County around Muenster. Perhaps they'll be next. Beautiful stadium in honor of a great coach. Good luck to the Eagles.
we are very very fortunate
we have a very supportive community
We have an excellent Superintendent who knows finances!! we were actually able to drop our M&O tax rate this year by 2 cents
no bond money was required
again we are very fortunate.. We have have had enough kids move here in the last 6 months because of this field , facilities, or program in general to pay for it. We prolly had 15 athletes move here in the last 6 months that will more than pay for this field at 10k per year in funding.

The school board has been saving the ISD's pennies for a while. This all started because they wanted to build to track for our students. The bulk of the expense incurred is for the track. The football field is losing it's crest so there would have been expense to make improvements. It cost about twice as much to put the turf field down than to do the earth moving needed. The turf is guaranteed for 8 years and typically lasts 12 years before needing replaced. They are putting in a lighting system that will make the track available to the community 24/7 unless of course there are school activities taking place. In my opinion the best part of this is taxes will not be raised, no bonds to be issued. The fund that is funding this project is comprised of 70% State money and 30% tax money. This project will still leave a healthy balance in the fund since the school board has been frugal and diligent in their spending.
