I believe you are missing Amarillo Highland Park. They will probably end up in District 1.

I could see Sabinal and Center Point going south. Harper Mason Junction going west. Not sure about Brackettville. Currently San Saba is the Track and Basketball district with Mason Junction Harper and CP. Junction and Mason in Region 1 Softball so who really knows.

there a ton of schools in the Waco MSA -
Bosqueville, Bruceville-Eddy, Crawford, Moody, Valley Mills to the west Holland a little further south
Axtell, Hearne, Jewett Leon, Marlin, Rosebudd-Lott - a little further east is Centerville and Normangee

It should be Highland Park and not River Road - River Road has 388 students both schools did though go 1-9

You are correct. Highland Park will have a tough time competing in Class 2A as well.

I could see Goldthwaite going in any direction. with all the schools in the Waco area I'm thinking they might be needed more to the west this time.

You forgot Winters, they move to 2A DIv 1. Could Winters go East to Goldthwaite, San Saba, Hico district ?

This could be District 4 replacing District 3. This would allow Waco area to have two districts in Region 2.

With all that Hico and De Leon return, that would be a whopper of a district. I expect SS to jump Goldy next year.

For the upper and lower numbers to change very little, there are a lot of movers this go around, and a lot of possible consequences because of locations.

I do think Mason and District 14 could be back in Region 1. Been awhile, but Mason has been in all four regions at some point, and it hasn’t been that long since we were in Region 1.

Also Riesel, Italy & Itasca. Holland & Leon would be on the outer edge of Waco area. About the same distance as Italy& Itasca. Lots of options.

I have never really looked at it until this year will try to throw something together. Hawley and Stamford are kind of in no mans land as are Seymour and Olney. Ozona, Forsan, and Winters kind of make sense to group together- maybe they group D4 and D3 from this past year with Post moving to D2 and send Seymour, Olney, Chico, Alvord east with Lindsay and VV. Still need a D4

WF, I could see putting Winters(not that far) in with Stamford, Hawley, Seymour and Olney. They could also leave Post in the mix and make a 6 team district which I would like to see. But who knows come spring and the UIL brain trust starts messing with it.

This is my take on the matter. Dist 1 will be the 6 teams around Amarillo. Dist 2 will be the 6 teams around Lubbock, including Post. Dist 4 will be Stamford, Hawley. Winters, Olney, and Seymour. Dist.3 will be Ozona, Junction, Mason, Forsan and possibly San Saba. I think that Bracketville, Sabinal, Harper and Center Point makes up a four team district 14. Kinda weird in district 3, but those strange things happen to Mason.

Riviera-Kaufer was in 16 2A Div2 this last alignment. It looks like they are going to move up to Division 1. Them moving up to Division 1 should solidify Refugio’s position in District 15.
It's a pretty good day when you're on your way and you like where you're going. And you've got what you want and you want what you've got and you're wise enough to know it.

Mason has been in a district that included all of those teams during the 1970's, with the exception of Forsan.

People won't like it but there is going to be some travel in some districts. Distance has never mattered to UIL!! I just don't see UIL doing 4 team districts. Last year in DI there were 2 districts with 7 teams, 9 districts with 6 teams and 5 districts with 5 teams.

With Abernathy moving up out of D2 (which was a 6 team district) they could make that a 5 team district leaving Post with Stamford and Hawley and adding Seymour & Olney. Perhaps they throw Winters in there too. Traveling wise it would make more sense to move Post to D2. Then group Forsan, Ozona, Junction, Mason, Goldthwaite, and San Saba to form D4. MAybe they keep D4 together with Hawley, Post, Stamford, Forsan and add Winters. Then the other district in R1 could be Junction, MAson, Goldthwaite, San Saba, Ozona, and De Leon

I see why UIL puts out in our eyes crazy alignments - no easy way to do it in the current system.

Who would have thunk 2 years ago after being in D3 then D4 they would have shipped us East to D5.
D3 could become Forsan, Hawley, Post, Stamford, and Winters and thus Alvord, Chico, Lindsay, Olney, Seymour, and Valley View become the new D5

Ozona is over 200 miles from De Leon, a 4+ hour bus ride. That would be completely ridiculous given how close we are to other 2A schools.

I could see a potential district of something like Goldthwaite, Mason, San Saba, Winters, Junction, Ozona. You could even eliminate one of those and include Forsan. We have went that direction before

Yep- it would be ridiculous but don't put it past UIL not to do it for that reason. Think Goldthwaite had ridiculous district travel a few years back. Someone is going to get stuck with that 200 mile bus ride to Ozona it all likelihood!!!

yea I know my reaction is based on travel & I hate going east.. Plus our JV schedule has been short games bc last few years several of those teams east didn't have a JV. Seymour & Olney are long drives but the other three very close.

Region 1 would be ridiculously massive in that alignment though. Literally the entire west side of the state! From East of Uvalde to the Panhandle! Insane!

Probably why it won't happen. But some team is going to get stuck in a district with Ozona - that just made the most sense to me!!!
