Albany 55-7 over Lindsay.

Isn’t Lindsay the pretty town with the German Catholic Church that’s part of the public school?

A lot of lopsided scores for this late in the playoffs.
It's a pretty good day when you're on your way and you like where you're going. And you've got what you want and you want what you've got and you're wise enough to know it.

I was thinking that myself. Expected a couple blowouts but not this many.

I heard their football field was once on Church property. Windthorst ISD leases the part of their school buildings from Fort Worth Diocese. Our football field is owned by the Diocese.

panhandle 48 Stamford 21 at the half. Dist 1 has just shown how tough they are. 1st quarter game was tied at 14-14, then the wheels fell of of the Bulldogs game. Stamford has come a long way since being picked dead last in their district.

For the eight Div. 1 games this weekend:
Smallest/Biggest point diff was 26/40,
Average point diff was 35.
The "average" loss was 5 TD's!
By round three I would have expected these games to be closer with most of the remaining squads being true playoff teams. Figured maybe one or two surprises, but looked for the teams not favored to win (us included) to keep the scores relatively close. When the closest game of those 8 is a 4 TD differential, wow, and we were one of the teams that got spanked so I'm not looking down my nose at anyone. Guess I thought there was more parity, in general, than there is. Evidently, the elite teams really are a BIG step above the rest. Maybe the quarters will provide closer games. Congrats to all the teams that advanced.

In my opinion there are a lot of good teams, but there are truly only 4-6 teams in each division that ultimately can win the whole enchilada in DI or D2. I know some will say there is only 1 team in each division, but you just never until get between the lines. I fully expected Refugio to cake walk over Crawford in the Championship game last year, but Crawford went toe to toe with them.

Div 1
Stratford
Mart
Refugio

Div II
Wellington
Muenster
Albany
Tenaha
Burton
Falls City

The numbers from this past weekend back up your theory. Of the eight teams that won, I can see the 3 you picked plus maybe Mason.
Wonder how much the matchups played into it? If some of these teams were in different districts, would they have fared better playing against different teams? I think probably not in most cases, maybe one or two might have. Doesn't matter at this point, just food for thought.
