should be a great game, i do the broadcast for the Mart Panthers and im so ready for a REAL game. Its hard to watch the carnage of the past 11 weeks or so. I watched some of Deleons games and was very impressed. I think this will be a real test for Mart but of course being a homer and imo I think Mart still wins playing 4 qts finally. Good luch to both teams and great sportsmanship tonight.

I'm hoping that both teams have their best game of the season, and that the Refs make all of the right calls at all of the right times so that neither team, or fan-base has any excuses.
If this happens, Mart wins by 28+ IMHBAO.

Just went back and read the Canadian, Mart thread from 14. It's on page 23. Reads alot like this thread. ( that is not me saying Deleon is as good as canadian). No one knew just how good Canadian was yet and Mart was going to win by 50 and so on....

Will be interesting to see if the Refs also #3 to be as physical as he was last week. No it didn't affect the outcome of the game but there were a couple of times I felt he should have been called for interference.

Will also be interesting to see if refs throw flags for after the whistle crap. Last week refs just handed out verbal warnings. After said warnings a couple of plays later the player apologized and shook the officials hand!!! Again didn't affect the outcome...have to keep your cool in a game where 15 yard penalties can extend drives.

Agreed WF ... #9 is more physical than #3, and he didn't play last week.

I just don't want hear any excuses - win or lose.

Pretty sure those that saw Canadian knew what was coming. Maybe I'm foolish but DeLeon's schedule doesn't match up to Mart's and thus I have trepidation in believing all the hype. I've been wrong before and will be wrong in the future so be it!!!

Thought Tweet told me 9 was an OLB, I guess #3 could have been dropping into coverage...I've tried to forget the game then again I was a glutton for punishment and watched it again on HUDL!!! I noticed that what I thought was a 72 yard TD run by Bailey was actually a pass as the ball was flipped forward!! Like that play wish we had the speed to run it!!!

I think Mart will take this one. But I do remember 2011 when Stamford was 3rd in their district and had Mart in their way to Jerry's World. Everybody was picking Mart, even I had some nervous thoughts about the outcome, but had confidence in the Dawgs. Stamford did win and move on.
I see DeLeon being in that same situation, going to play in uncharted waters. Even while picking Mart to win this one, DeLeon must have a pretty good team to have gone this deep in the playoffs.

I've been there before!!! Pretty sure so has Eagle!!! The shock of wow these guys are as good as advertised. Sure there is some embarrassment for being taken to the wood shed. Then again one game doesn't make a season. DeLeon had a great run, they just ran up against a true State Championship caliber team. It happens.

There are no moral victories in the playoffs, but Deleon did hold Mart to their fewest point total amongst 2A teams

The biggest disadvantage for Deleon was in the Mart's DL vs Deleon's OL. It was a jail break up front all night long. Yeager didn't have time to get into a rhythm.

Coaches had me talk to the team during athletics. Exactly what I told the d-line. If y'all let #8 have 5 to 6 seconds to throw. You will lose this game.
